Czech Charity Cross Duathlon (22. 10. 2009)
The team of OKIN Facility BG participated in the organization and execution of a sports charity event. Together with two other Czech companies - Peterka & Partners and Kreiner Bulgaria - OKIN Facility BG supported one sheltered home for people with intellecual disabilities. In the time of world economic crisis when all companies shrink all their costs, OKIN Facility BG is proud to declare its participation in a campaign for contributing the disabled people.
The initiative took place on Sep 26, 2009 in the region of Bistritza Lake, close to Sofia. The Duathlon included mountain biking as well as running. About 20 people took place in the competition while the rest of the guests and visitors enjoyed quality Czech food prepared especially for the event. However, all these delicious dishes, including Czech gulash and knedliky were not for free, because the money collected in that sunny working Saturday were donated for the people with diabilities.
The competition was quite interesting and a bit challenging because the race totalled to about 16 kms of mountain biking and running. That's why it's clear that some of the participants were not able to cover the whole distance :-)
The good thing is that this is not a one-time event but a campaign that is going to be developed through the years. That's why keep on practicing and we'll see you again next year!
